The CMA sounded the first note itself in 2007.

The Carinthian Music Academy (CMA) has the legal form of a limited liability company and it has two sites - The Ossiach Abbey Music Academy and the Knappenberg Music Center. The Knappenberg site started operating in 2007. Ossiach CMA started up in June 2009.

The owner of the Carinthian Music Academy is the state of Carinthia, which acquired the property with the former Ossiach Benedictine monastery in 1995.
