Music is not all, what can be learned here.

Hüttenberg has a long mining tradition. The iron ore from which the so-called ferrum noricum, a variety of steel prized for its high quality, was produced has been mined here since pre-Roman times. The old smelting furnaces in the Heft area and an especially interesting show mine in the slightly higher town of Knappenberg bear witness to the area’s rich history to this day. Another name that is inseparably linked with Knappenberg is that of the world-famous alpinist Professor Heinrich Harrer, to whom a museum is dedicated here.
