    Vocal/Voice and Breathing Technique

    € 120

    Detailed information

Jim Daus Hjernøe demonstrates the capabilities of the human voice in his "Vocalpainting," a revolutionary technique that the professor of rhythmic choir conducting introduces in a two-day workshop. Anyone who enjoys singing and experimenting is welcome to participate.

"Rhythmic Choir Workshop – From Community to Collective Creation by Jim Daus Hjernøe"
This workshop introduces you to one of the latest trends in choral music: "Vocal Painting." The method utilizes vocal sounds and rhythms to create complex musical compositions, often without the use of instruments. This innovative technique, allowing a wide range of vocal styles, has gained international attention. Today, the musician and vocal artist instructs students worldwide and performs with vocal and a-cappella groups such as "Vocal Chaos" or the Jim Daus Vocal Orchestra on major stages.

Jim Daus Hjernøe believes that the human voice can be utilized and explored like a musical instrument. Together, we delve into short rhythmic arrangements and learn to create musical moments using Jim's unique musical language. The workshop is open to everyone, regardless of previous choir singing experience. No special prerequisites are needed—just the desire to learn something new and have fun.

Artist / lecturer: Jim Daus Hjernøe

Responsibility as the key for the “Intelligent Choir”
In the workshop, Daus teaches according to his own training concept, the so-called “Intelligent Choir” (TLC) method. The Dane relies on the shared responsibility of every individual choir member - from the leader to the singer. The idea of “musical presence and alertness” serves as the basis for this.

    Workshop times:
    Saturday, June 22nd: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. // 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. // 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m
    Sunday, June 23rd: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m
Public final performance: 1:00 p.m. – Alban Berg Hall

The aim is to play an active role in the joint final performance. You will have the unique opportunity to work directly with Jim and gain hands-on experience directing a live choral performance.

Join us and experience the magic of Vocal Painting and rhythmic choir leadership with Jim Daus Hjernøe. This course will not only enhance your singing skills but also provide you with a new understanding of creating music collectively. We look forward to welcoming you to this unique and dynamic workshop!
