MASTER CLASS VOCALS – Ferdinand von Bothmer

In the course “Master Class Singing – Ferdinand von Bothmer” vocal technical developments are taught and problems are dealt with. We focus on technical tools that serve the singer as a prerequisite for free musical interpretation. We refer to the principles of classical Italian bel canto technique (such as messa di voce, breathing and support techniques and register balancing), which are used in both the opera repertoire and song literature, and draw on our wealth of experience as musicians and teachers. The course is rounded off with evening come-togethers in a family atmosphere, where we will chat about singing while eating.

Ferdinand von Bothmer began his singing career at the Vienna Volksoper and sang the lyric tenor there. Further stations in his career included the opera houses in Munich, Vienna, Washington, Hamburg, Milan and Rome. He sang roles by Rossini at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro and roles by Mozart and Wagner at the Tyrolean Festival in Erl. Since 2008 he has been teaching at the Accademia di Montegral, among others, and has been a senior artist for singing at the Gustav-Mahler-Privat since 2020 -University of Music in Klagenfurt.
