This product enables you for passive participation in the Master Class with Thomas Hampson.

In 2024, a new master class opens at the Carinthian Music Academy Ossiach, led by none other than the world-renowned baritone, Thomas Hampson. The master class is held in collaboration with the Gustav Mahler University of Music Klagenfurt (GMPU) and the Music Weeks Millstatt. Thomas Hampson is looking forward to working with young singers: “I want to motivate people and support them in their development.”

Thomas Hampson has had a unique international career as an opera, concert, and lieder singer. The US-American baritone performs in leading concert and opera houses worldwide and is considered an “Ambassador of Song.” The star baritone has a special connection to Millstatt – he performed for the 7th time in 2023 as part of the Music Weeks. In 2024, he will share his knowledge and experience in a master class with young vocal talents. Over four days, young singers will work with Hampson on a diverse repertoire under the theme “Lied and Opera.” The highlight is the joint concert evening, featuring notable works by Thomas Hampson and the young talents. Hampson is not only known for his outstanding performances on the world’s most prestigious stages but also as a respected teacher and Mahler interpreter. He has previously taught at renowned events such as the Heidelberg Spring (Heidelberg Lied Academy) and the Boulez Saal in Berlin. Additionally, he is the founder of the Hampson Foundation, promoting intercultural dialogue and understanding through the art of classical song. The collaboration between CMA, the Gustav Mahler University of Music, and the Music Weeks Millstatt has secured Thomas Hampson as the instructor for the Vocal Master Class.
