Matej Dzido
Matej Dzido (born 1993 in Ljubljana) is a pianist, song accompanist, educator, and founder of the Pianofly piano school. At the age of 13, he began his early studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. He studied piano with, among others, Lucy Revers-Chin and Stan Ford (graduating with unanimous distinction), and also received training in music theory, composition, as well as harpsichord and jazz piano.
He is a multiple prizewinner at national and international competitions. His concert activities have taken him to venues such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Salzburg Festival, and to Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Since 2015, he has maintained an international collaboration with Yamaha Pianos.
In 2021, he founded the online platform Pianofly, through which he teaches and supports piano players worldwide. His students have received multiple awards; one student was admitted to the Pre-College program at the Mozarteum Salzburg in 2023.
In 2022, he discovered his passion for art song. In 2025, he made his debut as a song accompanist at the Venice Opera House (Schubert’s Winterreise) with Markus Werba and performed at the Würzburg Song Festival.
