BRASS FESTIVAL: BRASS BAND UPPER AUSTRIA

The Brass Band Upper Austria was founded in 2002 as a project of the Upper Austrian Music School Association and brings together teachers, students, and orchestral musicians from across the region. Since 2020, the ensemble has been led by MD Günther Reisegger, who has guided the band with passion and precision to the forefront of the international brass band scene.

Participations in the EBBC in Birmingham (2022), Palanga (2024), and Stavanger (2025) – including an outstanding 5th place in the own-choice piece – confirm the band’s position among Europe’s elite. As the reigning Austrian champion, the Brass Band Upper Austria is now preparing for its next major highlight: the EBBC 2026 at the Brucknerhaus Linz.

As part of the opening concert of the Carinthian Brass Autumn 2026, the Brass Band Upper Austria will present a special highlight: the three winning compositions of the 1st CMA Composition Competition for Brass Band will be premiered and awarded that evening.

The Brass Band Upper Austria has kindly agreed to rehearse these new works and perform them for the first time at the CMA – a celebration of contemporary brass band artistry and creative sonic diversity.
